Professional Me
I'm a graphic designer from South Florida currently in my senior year at UCF. Alongside my major, I have a marketing minor. I've served as an officer in the Graphic Design Student Association for over three years and have held the position of President for the last two years.
I have a special interest in building community, creating with meaning, and embodying the most genuine version of myself to effectively communicate with the team I manage at GDSA. I strive to maintain the same genuine attitude when collaborating with others on their projects.
Who is this handsome and charming Peruvian-born, South Florida-raised young man studying graphic design at UCF?
Well, I am in fact the same Sergio Owen from the top but different. This is my website so I'll do as I please, respectfully.
I absolutely love my friends and family and owe a lot of my community-building skills to my parents. I love being able to gather people together, talk about process and design, and just have a fun time with like-minded people. I used to be a finance major at UCF and decided to switch to graphic design because I wanted to take all my creative skills and use it to help others.
I did musical theatre for 4 years at CCHS, I play guitar, sing, dance, and act (poorly), and I aim to hold a leadership position in AIGA one day and play an active role in the design community. I'm currently manifesting a successful career in graphic design and hope to one day have my own agency/studio that can be transparent and help educate others of this amazing field.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and for getting to know me a bit more.
